Honeywell breaks ground on PR’s first aerospace lab; $35 million, 300 jobs

Honeywell Aerospace broke ground Tuesday on construction of a $35 million laboratory in Puerto Rico. The electromagnetic compatibility and environmental test laboratory in the western town of Moca will create more than 300 new jobs.

The lab is being built by Puerto Rico-based construction firm Aireko Construction Group in a 73,000-sqaure-foot facility at Las Américas Technology Park, with operations targeted to start in the third quarter of 2015. The lab was designed by Puerto Rico-based CMA Architects & Engineers LLP. Island-based Caribbean Project Management is the project manager.
